If
you are a true family historian, it is not enough to just to
collect names to build a family tree. It is important
to find out everything possible about your ancestors and put
meat on the bones with information about where they lived,
how they lived their lives, information about their
occupations, and what influenced their thinking and decision
making. Real family history - not just collecting
names and dates. Remember, it is not the number of branches
on your family tree that matters, or how far it goes back in
time.... but how many leaves... and the situation of the
tree in relation to its landscape. Our aim is to give you
guidance, pointers towards carrying out good quality, sound
research and help on how to find the relevant sources of
information that will help you in your quest.
